A beautiful ending to a captivating story!

I started listening to this book, but had to stop midway because life got busy. Yet, when I took it up where I left off, I finish it in almost 3 days!

Yes, I was one of those that was left hanging on that cliffhanger from the first book, and the second book was worth the wait because it is a beautiful ending to a captivating story. I was able to truly witness Inez’s character development as well as Whit’s.

The only critique I would give the book is the slow pace to certain scenes that I thought over explain things way too much. Even though I understand that Ines is a 19-year-old young woman, there were moments where the narrator voice seemed too high-pitched for how I imagined certain scenes to sound like. But that’s my personal experience. Nothing to do with the quality or even the talent of the narrator, who did an amazing job conveying the emotions of the character in the story. Whit’s narrator was perfectly casted.

I did not expect one of the characters of the book to surprise me in the way that they did, and that was a very pleasant shock value moment in the book. It definitely made the story even more interesting and even gave a slight understanding backstory to one of the most hated characters in the books. But in the end, Inez what’s the one that became truly triumphant on her own. And that is the focus of this story.
