Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory
by Caitlin Doughty
This was a fascinating narrative about the life of a crematory operator. As I have mentioned in my review of one of her other books, her tone of voice is so clear in her writing. It is abundantly clear this was written by Doughty. Her narration makes it even better. I wouldn't want to hear about her real-life experiences from anyone else.
I found the concept fascinating and very insightful. The respect she has for everyone and treating them like the people they are is wonderful to see. All this book has done is make me admire her more. She's an inducible storyteller and this book is no exception. If you think this subject matter could be at all fascinating to you, this book is totally worth reading.
