i saw this book in an independent book store a few years ago and really wanted to get it, but decided that it was out of my budget. after reading a book about the cordon bleu (the sharper your knife the less you cry), which mentioned julia childs and her time at the cordon bleu i decided to hunt down this book (which i had forgotten the title of). the results: this book was touching and hilarious. i enjoyed the snarky sense of humor of the author, and could relate to her failures and successes in the kitchen. it has continued my urge to read books about cooking and i am waiting for julia childs' "my life in france" to come in at the library.
