The only reason I made it through this entire book was because I had somehow convinced myself that if I DNF'd, that surely I'd miss something worth reading. I was incorrect.
In the end, I have nothing but issues with this book.

The title is misleading, we don't get enough current-day perspective for anything in the book to "matter," the narrator makes my skin crawl, and the writing style is so stilted that there's literally zero emotion in anything. I'm also the biggest hater of the romantic aspect of this book - Why was it even necessary?

Cringe from start to finish.
