There are a lot of mixed reviews for this book and after reading it, that's understandable. However, I'm of the opinion, that I if I'm reading fiction, I want it to be an escape from real life. If the story grabs me, it can even border on unrealistic within reason (fantasy is not in my top 5 genres). The love story between Ben and Fallon is improbable from the beginning and the twist is even more so. Both characters had redeeming qualities that outweighed their flaws. The writing draws the reader into their story, wanting more for them and sympathizing with their situations, so I felt it was a great, though emotional, read.
Graphic: Sexual content, Grief, Death of parent, and Fire/Fire injury
Moderate: Death, Suicide, and Pregnancy
Minor: Cancer, Infidelity, and Panic attacks/disorders
