Restore Me by J.L. Seegars- Rating: 5/5⭐️

Sloane has always been at and with her late husband’s best friend Dominic Alexander. Until one night, Dom comes to her defense against a too-handsy drunk. When the two ended up having to work together on a renovation project, both come to terms with the supposed hate they had for each other as masking for something deeper.

👍🏾 As a stay-at-home mom that has really nothing going on in life, I LIVE for the drama of it all.
👍🏾 Coming into the book and seeing 470 pages for a romance book, I was immediately discouraged. But I am so glad I needed up reading because I really feel like this story needed the whole time. There was a lot to digest. Between their personal background, relationships with each other/exs/friends, and their dynamic slowly building from kind of enemies to lovers.
👍🏾 The writing was phenomenal from the very beginning. Riveting chemistry flowing off the pages from the banter into the romance. There were a lot of layers to this story that I enjoyed unraveling. Especially with the hits of the past bleeding into the storyline.
👍🏾 I’ve never felt so seen with the mother and mother-in-law differences. My mother is way more personalable and we have a deep rooted connection now, but growing up she worked a lot to make up for my emotionally absent father who eventually left us. So when I came into my husband’s life at 14 thrust into a family that wants to spend every waking minute together. It was just a different dynamic. Just as overwhelming and nosy but also born out of selflessness and life-altering love like Mama makes Sloane feel. We still have weekly calls, signed off with I love yous, and I can’t wait to get back to living close to her so that we can do our Friday lunch dates and Sunday family hangouts again. But also the whole miscarriage part as a person that has had one too. My heart broke all over again with her telling her story. “I
👍🏾 Dominick Alexander is my new book boyfriend. That man exudes calm cool and assertive sexuality. He is a MAN! I’m so glad I read most of this in privacy with my husband at drill or work, because ma’am, I was flustered by this man and his dirty mouth. Clenching my thighs together with my mouth hanging open going feral over him! Starting when he wiped the cake frosting off her mouth then licked it off his thumb!!!

👎🏾 I honestly cannot find one. This book was utter perfection! Might be my favorite romance EVER! Obsessed is an understatement.

Overall, I’ve had this one on my list forever from being recommended by my girl Natasha. And trust me, I’m fully kicking myself for not reading it sooner. I’m gonna devour the rest of the series and gonna need them as physicals for my shelf asap. There was so much love, heartbreak, tenderness, rawness, realness, and sexiness that I long for caught up in the writing of this book that made it a god-tier romance read, maybe my favorite ever. Highly, highly recommend.
