The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver

i think honestly some of the reviews for this book made it out to be so-so, and i’m glad i put those far away and approached with a blank slate. i’m not really sure how to describe this book but i just found it so oddly calming. knowing that there is a way to get through things and that sometimes you just have to make a commitment to wake up the next day and show up for the people you love. i think it helped for me to know that one day, when i’ll have to deal with my own inevitable grief that there will be an other side. that it’s alright to understand you’ll never find that person again, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find other people that make you feel equally and differently happy.
i just really loved this book and i almost feel as if that’s abnormal, but it just goes to show that experiences, gone or to be, and who we claim we are play a big part in our opinions and everything and i don’t know where i’m going with this tangent so i’ll just leave off here.
i think honestly im just a bit surprised i enjoyed this book as much as i did, and that’s perfectly okay since i’m always discovering new things about myself haha<3
