Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
4.0
[4.5 stars] this was so fun. i love dragons! angsty young adults! fighting for our lives on the mat and in the skies! fourth wing was not short of any action or fun. it served up the best cliches in a palatable way and was so quick to suck me in. i truly enjoy reading about collegiate education in a fantasy setting because the characters are always training to fight, learning to wield their magic, or in this case, practicing to fly and battle on the backs of their dragons. it’s so entertaining and itches the part of my brain that craves for the nostalgia and imagination of series like how to train your dragon. i’ve seen people say this is reminiscent of the YA fantasy/dystopian era of the earlier 2010s, and it’s soooo true. i loved this, even if it wasn’t peak writing or literature. it still got me! i didn’t see the final twist coming!
i am greatly looking forward to the sequel and hope that it provides the same brain-rotty goodness that fourth wing did :p
