The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson
5.0
The Amityville Horror is the story of George and Kathy Lutz and the hauntings they and their kids experienced living in a house at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, NY, for 28 days from late 1975 to early 1976. The house is also where Ron DeFeo Jr. murdered his entire family one year earlier.
As a note, I have read up on some of the debunking of this “true story.” I can see both sides of what is being told. But whether you believe in this sort of thing or not, what happened to the Lutzes is pretty terrifying and makes for a great read all the same. Accept it as a fictional ghost story, if you must. It was entirely enjoyable no matter what, IMHO.
