Kindle Unlimited. Even if there is an audiobook of this at some point, I think I might recommend at least reading along with it just for the alien language bits.
Well I did it. I read the spider alien romance book, despite my absolutely debilitating fear of spiders. There were definitely some bits that triggered my arachnophobia, but overall it wasn't actually that bad. Why?
Because the plot absolutely swept me up. I devoured this book. From the moment Ketahn finds Ivy I could not put it down. I loved the intrigue of court politics, the background mystery of what brought Ivy to the planet, the slow reveal on both of their pasts and the (relatively, for the Alien Romance genre) slowburn romance.
Do not pick this up expecting insta-smut. You will be VERY disappointed. While there are some steamy moments, it takes time for the characters to get to know each other and work on the barriers that stand between them. This is a trilogy, and the authors take their time setting everything up. But if you're down for some sci-fi alien romance and you're cool with the alien being more monstrous, don't skip this one.
That said, beware for here there be dub-con, along with some minor but on-page outright assault. More details behind the spoiler in Content Warnings. If that will ruin your day, maybe check out some of Tiffany Roberts' other books.
As for me though I can't wait to freak out all my friends when they see this one on my bookshelf.

Graphic: Sexual content and Violence
Minor: Sexual assault, Sexual harassment, Death, and Emotional abuse
Sexual Content: The spice is strong, even if you have to wait for most of it.
Violence: Several graphic on-page fight scenes involving the male lead.
Dubious Consent:There is an early scene where the male lead molests the female love interest without her permission and despite her protests. She mostly seems embarrassed, and upset only by her enjoyment. Later, the sex scene is *very* dub-con, pushing the line even on that for a moment before pulling back again.
Sexual Assault / Harassment:The male lead is repeatedly assaulted (unwanted groping) and harassed by the Spider Queen, who wants to take him as her mate, but who he does not want. This happens almost every time that the Queen is in the book. In addition, Ivy recalls, in moderate but brief detail, her own sexual assault at the hands of an ex boyfriend.
Death:A tertiary character is killed on-page.
Emotional Abuse: Ivy several times recalls the emotional abuse of her parents and an ex.
Violence: Several graphic on-page fight scenes involving the male lead.

Emotional Abuse: Ivy several times recalls the emotional abuse of her parents and an ex.
