A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers

3.0

i would love to read more books in what becky chambers calls the hopepunk genre. i love left wing political books about utopias, completely new worlds and imagining what a future without exploitation or oppression could be like. however i felt this book was too idk shallow(?) for me. not in the sense that the politics needed to be more subtle, if anything i want everyone to wear their politics very much of their sleeves. i felt the book just didnt explore much of anything, the character said things that i felt were agreeable but they didn't explore ideas in any real depth and therefore nothing stuck in my mind. though there are a lot worse popular books that i genuine do not think have good political messages so im glad so many people are reading this one.
