i remember reading this series few years ago and i remember enjoying it well enough but not enough to purchase/own copies of it. so when i saw my library had it available on audio i thought i’d give it another try. and yes, this is a very good series. i enjoy most of the books, characters, story etc. but this last book/ending just doesn’t do it for me. it’s like… so anticlimactic. first of all, we don’t even end up with a ‘red queen’ lmao what. also the submarines show up and… cut to a different scene. and then mare and maven are fighting and…. cut scene. and then mare wakes up to a cease fire? her and cal are still not together but maybe together? it’s like, ugh why couldn’t there be a “15 years later” epilogue or something that actually wrapped up what we just spent four books reading?
