macfiar 's review for:

3.0

I also finished reading Bourbon Justice for NetGalley, being released November 1.  It has some issues.  The first two chapters are superficial and a little dull.  After that it gets more interesting and more in-depth.  But the first two chapters could have been combined and edited down to an introduction.  Once it starts talking about the actual cases and how the outcomes changed the law, it was more interesting to read.  However, with only 6 weeks to go to the release date, this is still way too rough for publication.  Numerous typos, strange format, difficult to read.

Things I liked:

The writing is good.

The subject matter is interesting.

The author knows his subject.

Things I didn't like:

The first two chapters need editing and revision.

Because of the first two chapters, some of the material feels out of order.  Feels like we are skipping around a bit.

16% of the book, at the end, is taken up by notes.  I understand the necessity for this but it seems excessive for such a short book.
