The Queen of the Damned
by Anne Rice
Anne Rice's writing is absorbing, as always, and the narrator of the audiobook is wonderful, too. This book lingered a little too much on characters talking in circles and repeating past points for this to be a 5-star book. When you actually think about what happens, very little actually does. We instead get POVs of old and new characters who were enjoyable but did not move the plot along. Also, I read/heard that Akosha is the original TERF, and now I sort of get it (lol). Overall, I enjoyed it, but it could have been cut down a bit to streamline the story. I think this is a great place to stop reading the story.
