It was my first Norse inspired book and the mythology aspect was very interesting. I didn’t care for the FMC or the MMC for that matter. In fact I did not care for any of the characters. But that might be the nature of the story. It’s violent and the men and women have that ‘Viking’ mentality so a lot of their decisions were rooted in strong over weak mentality. And I like more vulnerability in my characters that make me want to empathize with them. I am not sure if I liked it or just kept reading to see where the plot was going. I am still interested enough to read the sequel though at some point. Definitely didn’t see the twist so that was fun.
Feels weird when I can’t tell who the good or bad guys are because I’m not rooting for anyone at this point.
