Gemma is a bit of a ‘say how it is, vegan hippy chick’ who doesn’t take shit off anyone and speaks her mind and does what she likes really.
She’s asked to go along to her mothers party and she springs it on her it’s because she’s engaged to Frank, who will be husband number 4. But Frank is lovely and her mum says it’s going to be forever. She seems much happier than she has in a long time.
She meets Jason, Frank’s godson who he brought up from around 13 yrs old when his parents died in a car crash. He’s also his partner in their business, Santos and Mitchell.
She finds herself arguing with him A LOT, but he can also be quite firm and insists he’s driving her home as she’s cycled there and it’s dark and she’s had a few to drink.
But it’s not hate she’s feeling, and he doesn’t feel that either. There’s something behind all their arguing and being horrible to each other. There’s spark! But will they or won’t they? Find out by reading all about them.
Loved this story, low level spice and a great back story. Gemma is a bit of a sod, she knows she doesn’t conform and she doesn’t try to. Jason is the complete opposite of her but there’s electricity between them.
I love the way the story goes, and it makes me laugh in places. Nicely written and I’m eagerly waiting now for the next book so I can find out all about Gemma’s friend, Brontë.
I love finding new authors and Sophie Andrew’s did not disappoint me.
