206 Bones by Kathy Reichs

Unique of the Bones novels I have read to date, the novel opens with Dr. Temperance Brennan waking up in a small enclosed space. Through the course of the novel, she tries to escape - as well as recall what led to her being there.

Some important issues are touches on. Non-certified or non-qualified investigators lead to screw-ups, even if their intentions are good. They compromise the integrity of investigations. In 206 Bones, it is taken to an extreme to illustrate a point.
