The pacing was good, however the “dark” nature of the sex scenes becomes increasingly less consensual and more unhinged. The boundary from the first book, where she still enjoyed the acts, has been crossed, and the romanticising of these kinds of acts is dangerous. Plenty of other books do CNC much better.
