“Oh what is stronger than a death?
two sisters singing with one breath.”

“Whole branches of grammar will be invented only to praise you.”

“But that is the nature of grammar—it is always tense, like an instrument, aching for release, longing to transform present into past into future, is into was into will.”

One of the most beautiful and enchanting reads of the year (up there with Our Infinite Fates)! I’m in awe of this poetic novella! A mediation on time, mortality, magic and love. The audiobook production is absolutely phenomenal. It features beautiful voices singing ballads and river sounds. This sweet fairytale about sisterly love was a balm for the soul. I already want to relisten! Also this is how you do a cover 😍
