Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand

Elin is GOOD at what she does these beach melodrama and middle aged white lady female fantasy. I’m eating it up. This one has cancer and elicit affairs and lobster dinners on the beach. Truly and unironicly I LOVE her books. This one had a bit too many oh this all played out too perfectly with no real repercussions for our heroines but also that’s satisfying in its own way. Also this book’s title makes no sense. And she’s got some very weird retrograde obsession with women’s bodies—like all the men in this book either have perfect bodies or their bodies are not remarked upon but all the women’s bodies are picked apart also there’s some very odd self worth stuff around sex but otherwise I’m hooked.
