Poignant and moving at times. Well written. Not too many adjectives. Great descriptions of food! As for me, the end of the story reminded me of the line from Casablanca: “the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.” The setup reminded me of an enjoyable British sitcom from over 30 years ago called As Time Goes By.
