Undoubtedly the best book I have ever read. I normally feel my eyelids drooping when I read before bed but not once did that happen with this book. I read it in two days (pretty unheard of for me) and constantly wanted to keep devouring the story. The writing is absolutely phenomenal, easy to read and no unnecessary details, the story is always moving along, full of emotion and life. I felt as though I was there and that Evelyn Hugo was a real person. She is the most well written, wonderful character (although deeply flawed). I was just completely and utterly engrossed in the whole world. I absolutely adored Harry Cameron and though the representation in this book was handled excellently, and not just put there for the sake of ticking the representation box as it sometimes feels in books/tv shows. It made sense and was explored so sensitively and beautifully that it pulled me into this world even more because everything was so REAL. Such a thought provoking book that made me properly think about life. So many characters to ponder upon. Just phenomenal. Wish I could read it all over again; I’ve no idea how I am supposed to read another book now!
