Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman

3.0

This was enjoyable enough. Reasonably fast-paced, reasonably well written. The plot is ever so slightly preposterous and requires a certain suspension of disbelief, but I guess that's not the most salient point for a beach read. And the first-person narrator -- a rather ditzy and naive yet spoiled documentary filmmaker (weird, right?) -- is neither a particularly likeable character nor a true anti-hero. I'm probably more surprised to have made it all the way to the end than I am by the ending.
