As much as I love ancient greek mythology, as soon as I dig into the primary sources I tend to find them uniquely unlikable.
The Theogony is a long list of who begat who, with a break to discuss how evil all women are. Works and Days is sort of like an advice manual. Its main points re: have slaves, get rich, and don't share with your neighbors.
