It isn't surprising that Sullivan captures what it feels like to work in a bookstore and the characters that you interact with since he has done that. What he does with a mystery of death though is shocking. The story moves at such a brisk pace with everything weaving in together perfectly. I don't like any book that throws out some twist without building to it. So even though the ending was a little obvious I enjoyed that better because it all made sense and was so layered. It helps that the the damaged characters are loveable and you want to be with them as much as you want no how the mystery comes together.
