what the heeeeeeeck this was maybe the best book i've read in ages but the author somehow failed to tie up a single storyline!! i was truly appalled when it ended! so many interesting characters each so well developed and each with thought provoking and grounded conflicts and we’re left not knowing how even one of them is resolved!! i’ve never written down so many long quotes. francis’s inner monologues were like philosophy lectures from a quirky gardener and i ate them right up. i needed to know what would happen to lucy and how francis would or would not redeem himself and how martin dealt with sebastian and olivia and whether they were able to build a relationship… oh man, well worth the read but i really would love a sequel.
OMG wait ok huge update: there is in fact a sequel and i shall be reading it immediately if not sooner. phew!
also cannot believe this has a 3.2 rating on goodreads what’s wrong with people? good to remember not to always rely on those.
