Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

3.0

I thought this book a was alright. There was a lot of swearing which is one thing I'm not to fond of when it comes to reading. I honestly think that it's important to have books written about mental illnesses by people who have them. Those of us who don't understand what's it's like to deal with these things every day can look into the mind of a fictional person for a few days and have more compassion and sympathy for those who do struggle in real life.
I think that Daisy is a little blunt and too brutally honest, but that's how it is sometimes in life. When you don't know why your friend does the things they do it can be exhausting trying to have empathy for them because you don't know how they feel.
I would recommend this book to people to bring up the awareness of people who struggle with mental illnesses and such.
