A Madness of Angels by Kate Griffin

I love love love this book!

This book is the very epitome of urban fantasy. Technology meets magic in the most wondrous way, and the very city is alive with fantastical energy.

As much as I typically dislike first-person narration, this is possibly the only book I've ever read that cannot be written in any other way. The switch between singular and plural is a bit jarring at first, but that is part of the charm and storytelling. Matthew himself is a very likeable character for me, and I love the dynamic he's got with the other characters in the book.

This book is everything I've wanted from a book about wizards and magic. It's what I wished Harry Potter would be. In short, it's the book ever. I am definitely going to be forcing all of my friends to read it.
