absolutely stunning! a masterpiece of gothic-inspired mystery. the immersive nature of du Maurier’s writing is hypnotic and the atmosphere is like no other. (the only reason I hesitated to give the novel five out of five stars is due to the fact that some aspects of the novel have not aged well, specially the ableism present in how one of the characters with a disability is spoken about/treated)
