I read a review of this book in the New York Review of Books and it sent me into a frenzy. Bottom line is that the way we make food in America is making us fat, and we have no idea how or what we should eat anymore. The critique of nutritionism is really interesting as a critique of science in general, and specifically medical science. We joined a CSA after this book and have tried to follow his rules as much as is possible in the Midwest. I liked that it was hopeful in that he can give you real, concrete advice about how to eat healthy. This book inspired us to do things like make our own mayonaise, which is very tasty.
