i felt like there wasn’t really a plot in this book even though there was a lot going on, like a lot of potential that didn’t get fleshed out like: i felt like the supporting characters like Finn’s friends could have been fleshed out more since i had a hard time distinguishing them from one another i wish that we got to know Naomi and Finn better (since they’re the main characters!) i liked them but they just felt a little surface level to me
- Naomi being a gamer and her streams and Finn being a hockey player, neither of these character interests were really that important? it made them fun but i wish it was gone into more so that it mattered to the story
- the conspiracy with the athletic director wasn’t really explained well and thus wasn’t really important to me as the reader or (in my opinion) important to the story
- Finn’s amnesia, it just felt kinda like a silly plot device that wasn’t really necessary esp bc the athletic director thing wasn’t something i cared about
- i wish that Naomi’s relationship with her mom was delved into more than just near the end
also i felt like the smut wasn’t really necessary and felt a little out of place lol
all that being said, i did have a fun time reading this book! it was a quick and cute read and even though the plot fell a bit flat i think Naomi and Finn had good chemistry! i think Deanna Grey has potential and i’m planning on reading more of her books!
