It took me a while to get into, the exposition by text message at the start felt a bit too blunt, but once the characters were in the same location, it got much better.
FWIW I don’t know that I’d call this a classic romance as the conventions don’t match up to your expectations, but everything is there by the end of the book. It just takes you on a journey to get there.
