Desertion by River Savage

I want to be part of the Knight Rebel family. The women are so protective and caring. You just know that if you have a bad day they are there for you. They are there for Bell from the beginning. They really like Bell, a nurse that had been introduced to readers in previous books. The teasers were there in earlier books--Jesse and Bell are meant to be together. That is if Jesse can get his act together. He had a bad childhood that still influences him many years later. He has PTSD and carries massive guilt over Conner's injuries during a roadside bombing while serving. The only thing he knows for sure is that Knights Rebels are his chosen family. All of this makes for a very interesting character. I couldn't wait to see what happened next, frequently something that left me irritated. Life is difficult for Bell as well. Her sister, Paige, disappeared six years ago, leaving a broken family. You can't help but feel for her and what she has to deal with. She wants to know what happened to Paige. Bell goes to Jesse one night at a party hoping for help in the search. Even though the party was a bust, it is the beginning of a complicated rollercoaster ride of emotions and personal challenges. I really liked how I would predict what would happen and be left with my jaw hanging. They kept me reading until the end. The epilogue left my mouth dragging on the floor along with the Knight Rebels.
