The Hollow Heart
by Marie Rutkoski
Lesbians yearning and making foolish, reckless decisions. Sounds about perfect don't you think?
Desperate mortals always offer too much. They never see the trap that has been set for them.
Sid stole the spotlight. For the first half of the book I was happy to be reunited with Arin and Kestrel but their headstrong daughter impressed me so much. *talking-to-yourself-can-be-so-helpful-i-know-too* Her character development is praiseworthy so I'll the author a thumbs up for that. Also the rationality the characters showed was relieving to say the least.
Though I do admit the pacing was too rushed in the last quarter.
