This was a bit of a let down after Fourth Wing, which wasn’t GOOD, but was incredibly fun to read. This was not fun to read. I don’t know if it was my headspace or what, but I kept going, “wait, why are the characters doing this? And where are we? And who is this character who we’re supposed to care just died?” This was like the Iron Man 2 of books-trying to do too much, doing all the things kinda badly. Just sort of a repetitive, muddly mess.
