The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind by Tina Payne Bryson, Daniel J. Siegel

5.0

I NEVER read parenting books. I didn’t when I was pregnant, and I generally haven’t since either — they make me think even MORE about all the things I should/could be doing differently, which I don’t need more of in my life. But Maya had a rough start to the school year and her sweet guidance counselor recommended this book to help us understand some different approaches to take with her, and I was shocked how much I liked it. Not only did I find it approachable, but I actually looked forward to reading it each day. It uses a lot of metaphors, which I find really helpful, and gives lots of examples to make me feel like I’m not alone trying to figure out what’s inside my kid’s mind.
