White Fang by Jack London
4.0

THE READING DROUGHT HAS CONCLUDED FOLKS. I started this book in mid January after reading three in the first two weeks of the year but this book had such a slow build up it made me stop reading for a hot minute. I thought it was pretty boring but after the titular White Fang was born, it finally started to pick up and I enjoyed it. The book being so old didn't actually have a lot of racism like I expected, well, except for page 147 when White Fang claims that white men are the superior race (yikes). I grew to love that hybrid dog and was smiling ear to ear once he went to San Francisco. I really thought Jack London was going to make him a martyr for the Scott family but we got a happy ending and it really made me happy to see White Fang have a good end to his life.

P.S. For some reason I thought this was The Call of the Wild when I picked it out and I think that also added to my initial disinterest
