Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay
4.0

Sam Moore has been given a grant to attend grad school for journalism. The only stipulation--she must write letters to the director of the foundation, "Mr. Knightley," during the time she is in school. These letters are deep and therapeutic for Sam who grew up in foster care before landing in a group home. By her own admission, she is not always the best person. She makes mistakes, she has serious trouble relating to others, and she almost fails out of grad school. I liked her character even though I cringed at some of her behaviors. The ending was a bit predictable but still satisfying. I would like to read other books by Katherine Reay.
