dinjas 's review for:
Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West
by Cormac McCarthy
This book was a bit tough to read.
It is VERY well-written, with incredible use of the English language, especially in respect to the time period it was written in (mid 1800's).
That said, it is like no other western I have ever read.
It paints a vivid portrait of evil and brutality.
Many of the stories told in this book were not enjoyable due to the depravity.
I would recommend it though - I don't think it is wise to pretend that evil like that portrayed in this book does not exist.
