Solidly amusing with just enough detail to make it more than the usual broad parody of an industry. Waugh gets the way that politics and journalism are insular and shaped by chaotic personal attitudes. There’s something to be said for the way there’s very little difference in the end between the inner workings of Ishmaelia and Britain.
