I love this series. I can't quite bring myself to accept one of the choices the author made in this one though. I won't quit reading them, but my enjoyment will be forever tarnished. Sorry Jim, I think you messed up here. Unless there is some get out of Valhalla free card getting played sometime soon...
Edited to add: I still haven't had the heart, or desire even, to pick this up for a re-read. I think the only hope the series may have is if this is all some dream/vision of a possible future that didn't really happen. "Mirror, mirror"....?
Edited October 2021 - went through the whole series again, and made it through this a second time. I actually was able to enjoy it a little more this time, knowing what was coming. Still not my favorite.
