I'm so glad this story of two Black queer young women exists, even if it's in the shadow of their families own experiences of racism and homophobia. It was great to see how Avery gets to show up as her authentic self and has parents who love her for who she is.
The ending felt a little rushed with a part of the mystery left untold.

Graphic: Homophobia, Death of parent, Murder, and Hate crime
