Much of this book was riveting and inspiring, especially Debra’s arc.
Although the author undoubtedly “made it” it is interesting that she does not seem to be content or happy herself. Clearly her life has turned out better than Kim’s or Debra’s, but it’s hard to call it an unqualified success. This presents many additional questions.
I especially appreciated the relationship between Debra and the mother of her victim. I found Dawn’s explanation for the end of her marriage incredibly weak. It’s most unfortunate that this is real life.
