Badd Motherf*cker by Jasinda Wilder
4.0
Dru and Sebastian (Bast) Badd (and he probably is a Motherf*cker because I'm sure some of those tourists he's banged in the past must have been mothers..)
But seriously, I did not find this an unsafe read.
I listened to this on audio in one day, it was 'That' entertaining. Tyler Dunn and Summer Roberts take turns reading the MCs' alternating POV's. Been meaning to try this author for ages.
Dru runs away from her wedding when she catches her Groom schtuping one of the brides maids (the one she especially dislikes of course) 10min before she is to walk down the aisle. So she gets hammered with her cop father and his buddies and then catches the first plane outta town. Didn't ask where it was going only to find out he's going to small town Alaska.
Stranded in Alaska she stumbles into the first bar which happens to belong to Sebastian Badd, the local bad-boy man-ho. Except he's not so bad at heart. Contrary to what they intimate in the blurb, he just gives her a place to stay and helps her out. Of course eventually they end up being pretty HOT together! Lots of sexy times but not so much that they interfere with the story.
Bast had just had a meeting with his dad's (recently passed away) lawyer to discuss his will. All 8 Badd brothers (that's right 8!!!) have to come work in the bar and live in the town for a whole year or they won't get their inheritance. So over the course of the tale, brothers randomly arrive from all over the planet.
I enjoyed the way Dru and Bast fall in love. It's quick (just a week or two) but sweet. The brothers are there to interfere when needed. Dru was a great character. She's honest and takes no cr*p and can kick ass when needed.
I found the first chapter the hardest because of how Dru finds out her fiancee is a cheater.

I liked the way Dru thought and responded. The author doesn't drag out misunderstandings and was fair to all the characters.
My only beef with the story was that the epilogue was taken over by the brother Zane as an opener to his story which I guess comes next.

Although Bast is a man ho, it was mostly with fly by night tourists. There is only one scene with an OW and although it was icky, it wasn't much and I forgot about 5 min later. A hookup from before tries to talk him into seconds. She gets as far as undoing his zipper but he shoves her away. I don't remember much mention about his history after the first couple chapters. Dru herself has a broad sexual history from before her jerky boyfriendI liked the way Dru thought and responded. The author doesn't drag out misunderstandings and was fair to all the characters.
