The Forever War
by Joe Haldeman
I was just blown away by this novel. Thoroughly engrossing, close to un-put-downable, with a great lead character and a fascinating world. So glad I read it, and I couldn't recommend it enough. A great novel, period, whether you like science fiction or not. It didn't win the Hugo and Nebula awards for nothing, friends.
"To say that The Forever War is the best science fiction war novel ever written is to damn it with faint praise. It is, for all its techno-extrapolative brilliance, as fine and woundingly genuine a war story as any I've read." - William Gibson
