MY THOUGHTS:

Me while reading this book: giggling, kicking my feet, blushing, sweating, never wanting it to end.

I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS BOOK.

I’m sitting here writing this review and I CANNOT STOP BLUSHING. I’m looking at my favorite quotes and it just makes me want to reread it over and over again.

The two main characters, Nyra/Verena, the princess, and Dacre (love that name), son of the rebellion leader, are forced into the same orbit when Dacre must rescue his sister Wren. They hate each other but can’t deny the attraction that is growing between them. Dacre can’t stand Nyra training with anyone else (so possessive…YES!) and Nyra is just hoping the rebellion doesn’t find out her secret.

I honestly love the dynamic between Nyra and Dacre. They are both trying to do what they feel is best but are bound by fear and honor. This book is pretty short (under 300 pgs) so we kind of the get down and dirty beginnings of their story with a really good ending that sets up book 2 perfectly.

The spice was so good ya’ll. It. Was. Everything. It was that push and pull of enemies to lovers - not wanting to want someone but not being able to resist. I was blushing when I read the dirty talk because it was so perfect. It felt real and not too much.

Holly can do no wrong. I already love her other series (Stars and Shadows), but this one is most definitely going to be my favorite. It’s spicy and quick witted and I’m here for it.

Thank you, Holly, for the eARC! All thoughts are my own!
