Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins, HQ Digital and Liane Child for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Very gripping thriller! It was a bit slow to start but after about 70 pages, I could not put it down! The writing style was easy to read and the characters felt real. I could understand their motivations even when I disagreed with what they did lol. And the twist was so unexpected! I read a lot of thrillers and get disappointed when I guess the ending but I never knew where the story was going at any point which was fun!
I love thrillers with a bit of a feminist twist but unfortunately, this was disappointing in that aspect. I expected Cally to be more resistant to the sexism/misogyny but she really wasn't. The text never addressed the talking points by the conservative characters and Cally even ended up agreeing with them without examining them so I really felt frustrated during those scenes. It feels like the writer was trying to show both sides of the argument but didn't do it effectively.
If you can overlook that, I would recommend this as a speedy, gripping and tense read!
