You see, nothing good can come from being loved by old gods.

oh roshani everything you write is truly beautiful.

I liked the book, but at times it bored me or more specifically, it was a slow build up. the characters were intriguing, and the final twist truly surprised me, but somehow I was staring at the page thinking why am I reading this.
still, it was a nice book.

roshani never disappoints and overall it was a good story.

I've always been a fan of how she takes these mundane things and find beautiful words to describe them, giving them some kind of mystique and magic itself.

azure's story was heartbreaking, she was just a girl who wanted to get away from her reality, she was hungry for a different kind of life and that's what made she distance herself from indigo. speaking of indigo, such a particular child. she was so immersed in this fantasy that I kept seeing her as a damaged child who also wanted to run away but not alone–she wanted someone that only belonged to her and that was azure.

the bridegroom.. it's even poetic how we don't even get his name. his ending–him knowing the truth about his brother was heartbreaking. I truly have no words for those scenes, they hurt.

the ending? goosebumps all over me.
