Leaving Me Behind by Sigal Ehrlich

Okay, so this is the first book I DNF in years. I just could not get through it. I read the first 30ish %, but I couldn't go forward with the story. I really hated the way the protagonist's relationship with her body was depicted; all the moments of "haha look at me, eating food ( LIKE ANY OTHER PERSON ) I guess that explains my curves haha", to have her be a SIZE TWELVE? I'm sorry, but fuck right off.

I also didn't realize until I read other people's reviews, that the guy we see in the first few chapters is supposed to be the actual main love interest. I thought he was going to turn out to be a creep. In all seriousness, his behaviour was very creepy, so if you ever meet anyone in real life acting like this, please run. I also hate alpha male characters with a passion. Especially after our female friendgroup proceeds to swoon over "alpha" males, I was just done with the story.
