this is one of my favorite books ever i think. for such a disturbed book, maybe only 10% of it is gory but the gore is stomach turning. what is most fascinating is the banality of evil in it.
ellis is a fantastic writer making even more “mundane” moments fast and intriguing. one of my favorite moments is pat, mcdermott, and hamlin talking on the phone about dinner reservations. it was so funny.
one day i fell asleep while reading this book and dreampt i was still reading it and made up new plot lines in my head. kinda weird
